Date: 0000-00-00 00:00:00 Not bad. It's a lovely place to wander in and gasp at the stylishness of it. Everything is too expensive - you are really paying for presentation - but it is a place to be seen and it does sell Spanish products, which is a good thing in my book. |

Date: 0000-00-00 00:00:00 The quality of the produce in this restauant come deli is not in question, but the attitude of the staff leaves a lot to be desired. As a walk-in customer, buying small items such as a single loaf, a portion of cheese, etc, I have often felt more a hindrance to their outfit than a valued customer. Sulky, curt and disdainful are words I could use to describe some of the team behind the till. It's something you sometimes have to put up with in say, a pretentious London establishment, but this venue seems to be selling itself as an experience far removed from the self-conscious posing that can attend service in the Capital. As a local, I would like to feel a certain affection towards a venue providing me with delicacies in such close proximity, but too often I have come away feeling that certain members of the younger staff get more satisfaction from exercising a practised indifference rather than an informal welcome. It's a rudeness that The Good Eating Company would be well advised to stamp out. They could learn a lot from the courteous staff at nearby Tescos - delicious irony indeed! |

Date: 2006-10-25 13:09:22 The best charcuterie and cheese in Brighton & Hove by a long shot (and the nicest and best informed cheese-seller), but the pricing is generally wildly adventurous - too much so for a "restaurant" that's really no more than a few tables crammed in the side of a deli. |

Date: 2007-01-20 14:51:18 Shockingly bad, overrated by miles and pretentious and infuriating. The staff were obnoxious - I asked for a sandwich and wanted to eat in, the place was empty but was told I could not eat the sandwich in the restaurant it was only for takeway! I walked out furious. My friend then got some pastries from this place - they were inedible, disgusting. On my third visit I actually managed to eat the blandest eggs florentine i've ever tasted - was served on a terrible little english muffin, the sort you pick up in Sainsburys...absolutely dreadfull. If you want a place that really delivers for this sort of thing try Bills. |

I would really like to know what this organistion stands for. I get Bills I get pintxo I get Coriander I even get Carluccios. But I dont get the Real Eating Company! |

Date: 2007-07-03 13:41:17 Bills was closed we tried this place for a birthday,what ever happened to service with a smile. The staff were rude and snobby the service terible. Coffee too strong and luke warm,food too expensive and very small portions.We had ahair in our butter with hardly an apology an overal bad experience even when we had finished our plates were not cleared and and we were not asked if we wanted more drinks or a dessert. They dont deserve any customers at all. We asked if we could have sandwiches they said no.Would not recomend this place at all .Go to Bills. |

Date: 2008-08-23 21:44:51 I popped in for breakfast one morning last week. The place was quite busy and I was led to my seat by a pleasant server. I had the full English. It was delicious. The sausage if rather small was tasty, the bacon was lovely and the hash brown looked home made. It was wonderfully presented and big chunky doorstep pieces of toast was great. The server was very pleasant and my experience was very pleasant. Will visit again soon. |

The waitress was really sulky and forgetful and after waiting ages for the main course the food arrived without cutlery. We had to wait ages for the opportunity ask for cutlery, which we did very politley but the girl looked outraged and next thing we know we are being served, very firmly and in an unfreindly manner, by the Manageress! The food was okay, nothing special, and the whole experience was very disappointing and made us both feel uncomfortable. |

Date: 2010-07-01 12:13:53 Had a fantastic breakfast there, tasty full english, amazing coffee & friendly service, so good we went back for diner. If possible dinner was even better, we had the fish of the day and the spiced chicken both of which where cooked perfectly and so fresh with flavour. The service was attentive and the atmosphere relaxed. Well worth a visit. |
