Date: 0000-00-00 00:00:00 Four of us eat at this restaurant on a Monday evening (31 July 2006). The starters were undercooked and stale. We then had to wait for over an hour for our main courses and when the food arrived the portions were small and the quality unbelievably appalling (just like the first course). It was as if the chef was having a night off and unqualified staff were doing their best to cobble together some food. Our experience at this restaurant was a big disappointment as the hotel we were staying at (the lovely Hotel Du Vin next door) had recommended the restaurant to us. We attempted to politely complain to a man who appeared to be in charge but he refused to talk to us. His rudeness and arrogance took us all by surprise and just added to our disappointment. We left almost speechless at how the management of this restaurant can behave in such a way. It is appreciated that all restaurants occasionally make the odd mistake, but what distinguishes other quality restaurants from the King and I is the way they deal with the occasional dissatisfied customer. What distinguishes this restaurant from the rest is not just the poor quality of the food they are capable of producing, but the management itself. There can be no absolutely NO excuse for such arrogance, so my advice is to give this restaurant a wide berth as it’s hit and miss on food quality, and a complete no-no when it comes to customer care should you dare to complain! |

Date: 0000-00-00 00:00:00 A Few years ago this was my fav thai great atmosphere , good service , good food,havent been for a while now as seem to go to other places, partley due to the fact that iam sure portions began to shrink along with the magic rice bowl, ie you order 2 of the same rice and recieve one bowl which is certainley not the equivilant of the 2 bowls, and the lovely shaped serving bowls which were beatiful 5 years ago are now or where on last visit getting a bit chipped and old, come on replace crockery as soon as its had it and just dont skimp on rice!!! it costs next to nothing and fills you up. |

Date: 2006-09-21 10:27:58 The food was OK to poor, but most of all it seemed like there had been a change of ownership and standards had been allowed to really slip (this restaurant used to have good reviews). The plates were grubby and the attitude of the manager truly appalling when we tried to politely complain. It was his hostile attitude that took us all by surprise. It's as if he is on a suicide mission to go out of business! I strong recommend that you try elsewhere for Thai food. This restaurant is clearly not as it used to be and you risk your evening being ruined (as was the case with us) should you decide to eat here. BE WARNED!!! |
