The Hop Poles is without a doubt the best pub food in Brighton. Good value, great variety, huge portions and tasty food make this in my top 5 places to eat. Go there!

The Hop Poles does excellent food - a massive variety of lunch and dinner meals that changes every day, spanning from a light meal (soup, nachos, melts) to substantial ones (sausage and mash, lamb shank, pasta dishes). The daily menus are funny to read and I've always found the staff there very friendly and helpful. Definitely the best pub in Brighton food-wise.

Better than average food for a pub. Usually has quite a good choice which avoids the "scampi & chips" cliché. I just can't stand the way they write their menu's - a paragraph of bullsh*t for every dish! How very Brighton.
