Cheap and cheerful! only £5 for veggie Alacarte menu. eat as much as you like or £8 for meat option. not my idea of value for money, yet some friends like it. to much potato for me and similar spices.

Potatoes and chick peas swimming around in orange water? This isn't food. If you've no interest in Indian cuisine and just want to fill yourself up with carbohydrates for as little money as possible, eat here.

A great place to eat of you want to enjoy the same (watery potato) curry masquerading as any number of different dishes.

Previous reviewer must have eaten at another restaurant, as Bombay Aloo serves no meat. I regularly eat here with vegan friends, and one learns how to avoid the downfalls spoken of by other reviewers (too much potato / watery sauce, etc). Selective serving-spoon action and avoidance of some dishes can lead to a very enjoyable meal. The all-you-can-eat buffet is great value, especially during the happy hours on weekday afternoons. However, the dishes can vary in quality; but don't write off this place after just one visit - it is somewhat of an acquired taste. Overall: it's a great place, and has been a lifesaver to me during times of relative poverty. The omnivore's alternative is around the corner, on North Street, and owned by the same people. Bombay Aloo is finer, mind, in my opinion.
