This restaurant is reminiscent of British restaurants of the 70s. The serving size is large but the food was very unappetising and unimaginative. The service was very friendly though.

If you like a steak, then this is the only choice in Brighton. High quality cuts, great sides, reasonably priced. Service was friendly. Pleace looks a little "old school", but I think that is what a steak house is all about!!! Order a steak anywhere else in town after having eaten in this place and you will understand why no where else will do for the steak experience.

Being going here for nearly 20 years and the t-bone steak is excellent and wife sill happy with the fillet steak and always cooked to perfection, price maybe high but you pay for what you get.

visited this steak house , got extremely sick after being served a terrible diane sauce, which had obviously been stored and reheated. DISCUSTING.............

Average steak, nothing special, quite expensive, would not visit again. To be quite honest if you want a decent value for money steak just go a few doors up to the taurus steak house.

Did you know that this company pimps out their staff to the customer by keeping 22% of all tips? Incredible! This is to substitute their sub-standard wages. I reckon we should vote with our feet instantly and not support a ruthless practise. Do not eat at the Real Eating Company until they treat their staff better than their produce.

TWO OF THE REVIEWS BELOW SHOULD BE REMOVED. The one about tips refers to a different restaurant. The one about foot poisoning gives inappropriate marks out of ten, and assumes an unproven (potentially libellous) allegation about the source of food poisoning. I have no connection with any of the restaurants concerned.

My partner & myself attended the restaurant on Saturday, 29th November. > We got to there at approx 9.45 and there was a doorman who let us in. There > were police in the foyer, which > we thought quite odd, but living in Brighton, nothing is unusual! > Having been shown to a table, we were told the price of the food, ordered > our drinks and asked to help > ourselves to the buffet. > On reaching the buffet, we found at least a third of the containers empty > and what was left was congealed > or dried up. We took a small selection of starters and when the waitress > came with the drinks asked her when the > food would be restocked. We also pointed out that the food being heated > didn't look very appetising. She told us the kitchen > was closed and that was that.(Other customers were still being seated). As > we had already started to eat, we were not happy. > As she walked off, the customers on the next table, said they had found the > food disgusting, but more to the point, they were > surprised we were eating at all. Apparently the reason the police were on > the premises, was that some tramps had come into the restaurant, > grabbed with their hands at the food and spat in some of it. I felt sick. > The doorman and staff should not under any circumstances > have allowed anyone else to be admitted to the place. In fact, they were > still admitting customers when we were complaining about the food. > At this point I saw the manager and told him we would not be staying, nor > would we pay for the small amount of food and drinks > after what we had found out. He accepted this. > During the night, both my partner and myself were quite ill with upset > stomachs. > It is totally unacceptable that a busy restaurant which is advertising on > Southern Sound radio, can be greedy enough to > continue allowing customers into their restaurant under these appalling > circumstances. > I gather now, that Wokmania received very bad reviews for its food, but this > situation is totally unacceptable. I have even contacted the Food Standard Agency and they have called me back to investigate this dreadful situation. DO NOT EAT HERE.
