These days i am finding Carluccios touch and go.I would eat at the Ealing branch at least once a week but after last few visits to there and one in Bicester i really won't bother. Steaks recently have been poor quality portions small and food thrown on plates. Also why they have sea salt in bowls which is so unhygenic is beyond me, don't know whose dirty fingers have been touching it

Nice for breakfast as you can always get a table and they do seriously excellent coffee and OK pastries. For dinner: considerably better than most Brighton Italians; but then so is eating mud.

The food is okayish here and it has a nice atmosphere, but the way they exploit their staff is unacceptable. Waiting staff are only paid £3.75 an hour, with tips used to make it up to the minimum wage! Try Bills around the corner.

The first few times we went to Carluccio's, it was excellent - I've been a few times recently and I'm afraid it is now distinctly average! My partner chose a chicken dish that looked like Birds Eye chicken in breadcrumbs !... it were very dry and VERY disappointing - other dishes we have sampled were mediocre. You can always count on the Lasagne though, which is just how I make it from Antonio Carluccios cook book!(superb!) This venue is great for lunchtimes and afternoons - but not for a romantic evening. The layout is reminisant of a playgroup or school dinner hall. Moving on....!

Excellent for breakfast, mid-morning snack or afternoon tea, Avoid at lunch or dinner! Nice coffee, pastries & cakes but the noise at other times reminds me of a swimming pool; way too noisy.
