Date: 2007-02-10 23:02:22 It has been too long since we have visited this old favourite. The food is always hard to fault - we didn't expect to stop and savour something as simple as a tomato and onion salad or carrots (with almonds). The quality of the sardines and mussels showed a Portuguese love of fish. I think La Florentina do my favourite Moules Mariniere. It is reassuring that the owner can tell you how they tasted when he had them for lunch! The Portuguese red wine we chose was a delicious alternative to the run-of-the mill wines found elsewhere. It is billed as an Italian restaurant but it has a wonderful Portuguese twist. To be fair, the decor is looking tired but don't be put off, the food is the star! |
