Date: 0000-00-00 00:00:00 went here with a large group after my friend got married. very friendly and accommodating staff, atmosphere was lacking when we arrived and staff rallied round to pipe some music into our area-even though it was naff pop! food arrived at different times, some of us had finished before the rest even arrived!! but my steak was particularly delicious. yum. |

Date: 0000-00-00 00:00:00 Good all round Italian, I like the staff "hey Tony" do they pretend or are they really Tony always a Tony in every Italian,good sevice and if u really like pizza(I prefer other Italian food)then have one here real ovens real pizza ,good lasagne, carbonara cant actualy go wrong at any of the al restaurants. |

Date: 2006-12-07 14:16:16 I organised a surprise 40th birthday dinner for a friend here and wasn't disappointed. We had one of the private rooms so I can't vouch for the atmosphere really but the service was exemplary - both before and during the meal. The food was pretty good but nothing extraordinary. Great place for a party but not necessarily a foody's dream. |

Date: 2007-09-07 18:40:22 Bring back the old Al Duomo with it's rustic walls and charm and good food!!!!! It looks much like any other restaurant now and the food seems to have dropped in quality. As a real Brighton restaurant foody, I would put Strada as my top Italian restaurant closely followed by Carluccios I find it hard now to rate Al Duomo because it has sadly metamorphisised into a bland character of its former self. |

Date: 2008-07-01 17:12:48 I feel forced to write regarding the terrible customer service we witnessed while eating at this establishment on Saturday 28/06/08. A large group that pre-booked a table for 9pm arrived on time, but their table was not ready. They were told it would be around 10 minutes, so they settled at the bar for a drink while waiting. 20 minutes later they enquired about their table being ready and once again were told 10 minutes. Another 30 minutes later, they were finally seated at 10pm, one hour later than booked. When they enquired about a goodwill gesture for the inconvenience, they were brought some olives and bread! At the end of their meal an argument erupted, whereby the group asked for the service charge to be removed because they were naturally unhappy to have to pay this given the above. The manager launched into a rage, insulting the lead customer whose Birthday it appears to have been by saying “I thought you were more of a gentleman than that’’ in earshot of all other customers including ourselves!!! Instead of apologising and appreciating that it was their right to refuse to have to pay this if they so wished, he demonstrated an almost stereotypical Italian ‘Godfather’ approach by shouting to them to get out of his restaurant! The group appeared to be professionals, well presented and at no time were they rowdy. In fact one of the waiters got upset (obviously the service tip is the only payment he gets) and had to be restrained. I have never seen anything like it and the food was not that great for the price either! My whitebait was covered in breadcrumbs when it should have been flour and the pasta was nothing special, just a simple tom sauce you plonk on from a supermarket. This place seems to get all the hen and stag bookings, guaranteeing business and so they don’t care about professionalism and standards towards their local customers. |

Date: 2008-10-25 23:53:15 This place has improved a lot over the past year or so - particularly the service where the eastern European serving staff (with their excellent English) know how to be friendly whilst maintaining their distance - unlike their previous Italian counterparts. |
